What does Ventoux mean to you? The forest is often seen as just a prelude to the Bald Mountain part. It is arguably as daunting and significant as the rest, if we are talking about the climb. Is it the Pros racing up from Bédoin, through the chaos of hundreds of thousands of spectators? Is it the other side, or indeed, the other, other side? Malaucène or Sault? Or that final curve to the station atop?

Perhaps these are all what make Ventoux so special. It has so many facets. It means so many things to so many. It has a spirit.
